This journal edition of the Book of Mormon became my lifeline during the pandemic✨ We couldn’t attend church in person so personal study at home became more critical than ever. Years later, I love opening these pages and reflecting on what I highlighted or jotted down. I love seeing how I grew closer to my Heavenly Father and my Savior during that time. I’m a big believer that you reap what you sow. If you want to see results, you have to put in the work. It may require extra time, new habits, or sacrifices. In this case, you can strengthen your relationship with God through focused scripture study. A friend once pulled out her paperback scriptures — they were spiral bound. They lay flat so it was easier to read and she could write notes in the margins. MY MIND WAS BLOWN…🤯 I love to make notes✏️ I love to annotate📝 If highlighters and pens are color-coded, even better😍 I sports-bound a few copies of scriptures and later did it to this Book of Mormon journal. I went to a print/copy shop to have the spine cut off and the book spiral bound. This book has so many pages that the shop’s biggest spiral binding was too small, so I split it into two books😂 Finding tools and ways to study the scriptures that bring my joy have helped turn my scripture READING into scripture STUDY📚 Sometimes I write quotes on the margins, references to other verses I’m reminded of, and whatever comes to mind. Other times, I write down topics or phrases I want to study more deeply later🤓 This added dimension deepened my relationship with the scriptures. I could study them in my own “personal language.” They truly became a journal. The notes became as sacred as the printed text. How do you like to study the scriptures? Any tools or tips? If scripture study is challenging for you, what’s the hardest part?
